COUNTERBIAS BRIEF *** MAR 18 2004 *** Last
Update: Mar 18 Sean Hannity, a well-known mouthpiece for the Bush administration and other conservative interests, has called liberal filmmaker and writer Michael Moore an "idiot" on his syndicated talkshow. The name-calling incident occurred 17 March 2004, when Mr. Hannity said that "Michael Moore is an idiot". The comments are seen as blatantly hypocritical, as Hannity is a subscriber to the Ann Coulter school of thought, frequently stating that liberals are only capable of name-calling instead of genuine debate. Mr. Hannity's ad hominem attack on Moore serves to show that he is guilty of the same intellectual crimes as the "name-calling liberals" he so often denigrates. Just this month, Jody Genessy reported that "Hannity said [that Utah Democratic Party chairman Donald] Dunn's name-calling typifies the liberal leadership in the country now". One would assume that, following this train of
thought, Sean Hannity's name-calling typifies the Republican mouthpieces
in the country right now. ..Investigating Further... |
