Boogiejournalism, with your host Dana Bash
In essence, Dana Bash on CNN's Situation Room just said that in criticizing Donald Rumsfeld's recent speech and his handling of Iraq, Democrats were using him as a "boogieman" on the issue (although not specifically an imaginary monster used to frighten children).
Gee, for about five years there, I had begun to think Donald Rumsfeld was actually a real person.
America's Secretary of Defense, even.
Thanks for clearing that up, Dana. I didn't realize Democrats were building up a non-scary, non-conniving, powerless Rumsfeld into someone with actual power and responsibility for the Iraq debacle. And as a boogieman, Rumsfeld is merely, as Websters defines it, "a person or thing of which someone else has an irrational fear." Irrational indeed. Stupid Democrats and their boogiemen!
Now just smile and be glad Al-Zarqawi is dead. Rumsfeld killed him for you!

Being elevated from a joke to bogeyman... Might not be such a bad thing.
