Why has thou taketh thy couch, Jon Stewart?
(Via Grandinite.) Someone's really mad about the new Daily Show set, specifically the replacement of the comfy couch with a cold, formal office look.
Slate has a review of the new set.
Personally, I like the new look. It seems as though the new set has brought along with it an increase in the level of humor, not to mention quality, of the show. Judging by recent performances, the Daily Show folks (whether writers, "correspondents", or Jon himself) have been kicked into high gear because of it.
I say good riddance to the couch!

I sort of miss the couch.
The couch gave the set a more homey feel.
The lack of a couch makes it seem more newsy, which is probably what they were going for.
It reminds me too much of Fox news.
As they say in small towns:
there should be a poll. They should have one for us to take.

its the campaign to not give a crap about the couch (or to keep it off the set whichever you prefer)
