If Jesus ran for office as a Democrat..

..how would his opponents smear him? DU'ers are having some fun with this enticing little question. (I don't usually link to discussion forums, but today's Saturday so I'll make an exception.)

Here are a few gems:
-"Never married. Hangs around with 12 other guys. Obviously gay."
-A poster says Jesus would be smeared as "un-Christian, unemployed, radical peacenik who hates America," since he "reviled the rich, backed the common people, attacked the "establishment", "dropped out" of the workforce, hung around with whores, barkeeps, slaves, and other outcasts."
-"He's a bleeding-heart liberal... He never saw a social program he didn't like."
-"He looks Arabic"
-One poster suggests a hypothetical attack ad: "Video of a plane hitting the WTC, Voice over says... 'The World Trade Center was attacked by terrorists and thousands of Americans died. But Jesus would have turned the other cheek.'"
-"Jesus says we should "love our enemies." Can we really trust a man who loves terrorists?"
-One poster conjures up memories of Swift Boat Vets For Truth, suggesting that Jesus' opposition would claim that "His wounds were self inflicted. He really stumbled and just fell on a cross."
