Welcome to our newest columnist, Gene C. Gerard

Gene, according to his bio, "teaches American history at a college in Dallas... is a contributing author to the forthcoming book "Americans at War," to be published by Greenwood Press... [and]is book review editor for nineteenth-century American history with the History News Network." Quite the resume - and his columns aren't half bad, either! Also, apologies to Steve Horowitz for publishing his column 4 days late (a time-sensitive one on the Bush State of the Union speech, at that!). He's had it up on his blog since Feb. 3rd, whereas my slow/blind ass just put it up on Counterbias tonight, dated Feb. 8th.
