Round and Round She Goes
February 27 2005 “Round and round she goes… where she stops nobody knows!” No, we are not in a casino. A roulette wheel is logical. The Bush Administration’s policies are not. Which country should we attack this year? This week? Today? George W. Bush and his Companions-in-Arms possess a wonderful knack for inciting hostilities where none need exist. Take the great Leader’s latest attempt at foreign adventure: Syria. Scott McClellan was careful to let us know that the United States did not, in any way, believe that the Syria Government was behind the recent assassination of Lebanon’s former Prime Minister, Rafik Hariri. Yet, we have withdrawn our ambassador from Damascus (urgent consultations), and are, of course, contemplating another round of sanctions against that Arab State. There was a time when such an action – the withdrawal of an ambassador – was considered a prelude to war. Nonsense! The Bush Administration does not go to war. George W. Bush is not a general. He is not even much of a Commander-in-Chief. No, Mr. Bush is the chief officer of what is rapidly becoming a global Gestapo. This logic is simple: Many “sovereign” states – in particular those fondly known as “rogue” states – are unaware that, on September 11, 2001, the world was utterly transformed. This benevolent transformation was further confirmed last month, on the Twentieth of January, when Commissioner George was sworn in for a second term. You see, George W. Bush presides over a vastly expanded United States of America. Other recent chief executives superintended the affairs of only fifty states. George, on the other hand, has responsibility for fifty-one – the original fifty plus a new state; a state better known as the Rest of the World. Nations friendly to Police Headquarters in Washington D.C. are well aware that their territories and peoples fall under American Jurisdiction. Like the earlier fifty states, they are fully subject to the rigors of American law and justice. They lack only in one thing – any sort of representation in the government that rules over them. Nevertheless, this is not a problem. Good state governors, like Tony Blair and Silvio Berlusconi, know their place… and that place is at the heels of George W. Bush. A jerk of the leash and all is as it should be the planet is in perfect working order. Unfortunately, certain other “governors” are not so obedient, or even so knowledgeable and aware. Some, like M. Chirac, require an occasional whack from the Commander of the Global Police, or from one of his de-Rice-ive lieutenants. Others (and the Syrians and the Iranians know who they are) are a bit tougher. They need some “tough love”. They must be smacked down before they get out of line. One bad dog in the kennel and the rest will be howling all night. Syrian President Bashar al-Asad and various like-minded ayatollahs from somewhere beyond the Tigris, are very bad dogs. They make the worst mistake that a pooch can make – they don’t know their owners. Commissioner Bush has a “beef” with the Syrians and the Iranians. He wants to install an American-style democracy in Iraq. The Iraqi People gave this idea their stamp of approval when they “braved the insurgents” by allowing themselves to be marched to the polls under the protection of American bayonets. There were, of course, some “people” who did not vote in this election. They thought it was illegitimate. Those were bad people, as George W. Bush says — Terrorists. Any person, living or dead, in power or out of power, foreign, American, alien, or otherwise, who does not see things the way George W. Bush sees them is, plain and simple (just like Our Leader)… a Terrorist. Sadly, the Syrians make the additional grave mistake of not controlling their “porous” borders with the new free and democratic Iraq. George W. Bush knows this is an act of willful evil. Why? Because George W. Bush knows that he, Kapo of the World, regulates his own nation’s borders with an iron hand. No one… and I mean no one… who does not have the intention of becoming a sorely underpaid and exploited “guest worker” would even attempt to cross his totally and completely non-porous border. Not only that, but this same Planetary Police Commissioner knows that Syria has only one intention, and that is to contravene and overturn the blessed and benevolent rule of Iraq’s brand new, democratic Petro-government. Syria also has no right to interfere in the sovereign nation of Lebanon. American troops are a stabilizing force. Syrian troops only cause assassinations. [They also cause chaos, but that goes without saying] So, in the interests of all humanity, George W. Bush will continue to send American troops in whichever direction Fortune’s wheel turns. He’ll roll the dice and gamble with the lives of opportunity-poor young American women and men. Killed, maimed – or luckily traumatized – they will give up their futures for the futures of others. Yes. George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and many a grateful and grasping multi-millionaire will gather round the Holy Oil Well and sing hymns of praise as the black gusher shoots skyward. It does not matter that the oil flows at the cost of blood and hope and the “little people’s” dreams. Fortune has dealt Mr. Bush a hand, and he’ll play it to the fullest. Wherever there is a chance to be taken with human life, you can be sure he’ll take it. Pax Americana… Pax Dollarica… demands it. But you’d better be careful and be a good little soldier in George’s army.
…A turn of the wheel, and you
