Parrish Gets Pruned

So, finally, Carolyn Parrish gets a thigh strapping for her idiocy and leftist emotional anti-USA rants. It's about time.

Talk about a loser statesman. It seems the only feat of political 'Eich bein ein Berliner' this ridiculous mouthpiece has ever had is -- well, her Bush bashing.

'Lord, please give us some originality' some may pray, but they won't find any in her. While her vocal disapproval is dominantly of Bush, a subject that has already been vilified by a good number of Canadians, Parrish's comments on Kim Jong and Saddam seem to be muffled as I have heard nothing of those.

While almost half of Canada agrees with her comments, then she may have a point, as do a great number of her colleagues. It seems the only problem here is one where she is in direct confrontation with the official line of the Liberal party.

Aside from not having anything to compare her arguments with (as she has never really said anything of note before), I watched her make an ass of herself on one of the two now-cancelled Mike Bullard shows and more recently on 'This Hour has 22 Minutes' using her anti-American ranting as a war bonnet type of thing.

You have to admit, though: both Madonna and Carolyn Parrish, like to 'shock' us. The only difference seems to be the difference in the amount and quality of skin they do it with, along with a large degree of frumpiness involved on the Canadian side.

Anyhow, it is all too easy to run Parrish down at this point after her last stunt, jumping on a Bush doll on 'This Hour Has 22 Minutes.' This type of emotional distress from an elected official is bizarre to say the least; however, understandable as it is a type of shtick, a 'raison d'etre' for this here-to-now, little known politician.

In fact, I had never heard of her until her 'American bastards' remarks were broadcast following a scrum with journalists two years ago.

Since then, she has been vilified by some, laughed at by others, and applauded by the anti-war/anti-USA crowd to no end. While I have no feelings of admiration for this idiotic and emotional distraught frumpy nobody, I can appreciate the fact that she is being muzzled and I thank the Liberal hierarchy for that.

On the other hand, I'm angered by the fact that Parrish has the full support of a great number of Canadians, and her argument (not her methods) are those of almost half of Canadians and a good many of her constituents.

She dared to go against the 'official' party line. However idiotic her antics were, they are the antics and views of an elected official who was elected by people knowing exactly what kind of an amateur she was. They may even have elected her for her outspokenness and anti-US opinions.

I would thank Prime Minister Paul Martin for his display of sense in setting her on her ass; however, I would remind him that the people elected her to be their Liberal representative for her views, not Mr. Martin's.

It's hard for me to write this, but please Mr. Martin, in the name of freedom, do the right thing and reinstate Carolyn Parrish under the condition that she keep her immature antics at the personal level, and like a controlled alcoholic, not allow them to cross into public life.
