Today, the New York Post, that America-hating tabloid snot-rag of a "newspaper", printed a despicable piece of propaganda from the always-wrong Dick Morris. In it, Mr. Morris lied and propagandized to the fullest degree of his ability, stating bluntly to the Post's readers that Al-Qaeda wants Bush out and Kerry in.

Interestingly, Mr. Morris offers not a shred of evidence that Al-Qaeda actually wants Kerry to winmuch like CNN's Kelly Arena when she egregiously stated, in a news report, that "there is some speculation that al Qaeda believes it has a better chance of winning in Iraq if John Kerry is in the White House." Morris is clearly one of these speculators.

Directly preceding Arena's awe-inspiringly stupid statement, the reporter said something that Dick Morris didn't bother to: "Neither John Kerry nor the president has said troops pulled out of Iraq any time soon." There is not much difference between Bush and Kerry's Iraq policies, yet Morris argues that the end of the world will come if Al-Qaeda's supposed wish of seeing a President Kerry in office becomes reality.

He goes as far as to state that "Bush's surrogates should bring to America the message that the terrorists would be overjoyed to see the end of his presidency." Dick advises the Bush-Cheney campaign to use this as a campaign tool. Guess what, Dickthey're already trying this. And so are you.

The worst part about Dick's "article" is that he's not even right. In fact, he's totally incorrect.

The truth is, Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda love Bush.

They want John Kerry to lose.

A man named Eric Alterman summed it up beautifully, so I'll copy-and-paste what he wrote about Bush as there'd be no point in me regurgitating these succinct truths (taken directly from Altercation):

Alterman is actually making the point that Bush is an "Al-Qaeda plant" (although he was forced to write that it was a "joke, mostly"), not that Al-Qaeda wants Kerry, but it applies perfectly and even more poignantly in this situation.

Some may even remember Al Qaeda's outright endorsement of Bush. A Reuters report stated that a statement from an Al Qaeda-affiliated group "said it supported President Bush in his reelection campaign, and would prefer him to win in November rather than the Democratic candidate John Kerry, as it was not possible to find a leader 'more foolish than [Bush], who deals with matters by force rather than with wisdom.'...'Kerry will kill our nation while it sleeps because he and the Democrats have the cunning to embellish blasphemy and present it to the Arab and Muslim nation as civilization. Because of this we desire you (Bush) to be elected.'"

(Incredibly, the Reuters and Yahoo stories are both conveniently gone. Old Reuters link was here, old Yahoo link here, although the Yahoo UK article is still up. I wonder if the White House had something to do with sending this story to the memory hole?)

In conclusion, Dick Morris is a lying opportunist (we knew that already), The New York Post is a hateful propaganda rag (we knew that already), and Al-Qaeda actually wants George W. Bush to win (which might be news to some).
